- Holiday Homes for Easter Family Getaways
The weather has been lovely for the past week, the flowering cherry blossoms and magnolias are telling us spring is here. Now, if you were thinking of taking the family away for Easter, get booking and rent holiday homes. Accommodation providers are seeing a surge in early bookings this year. So, here are a some places to consider for a family getaway. Holiday Homes for Easter Family Getaways 50 metres from the beach at Carne The south east of Ireland has the highest sunshine hours and as a result is known as the Sunny South East. The coast of Wexford is ringed with kilometres of sandy beaches and, the county is full of history and interesting places to visit. Imagine staying in a lovely simple fisherman’s cottage only 50m from the beach at Carne. Fisherman’s Cottage, a traditional house has been sensitively modernised and retains its charm. There is a lovely big garden with apple trees and outdoor seating area. It can sleep five, see here . Overlooking Rosslare’s Blue Flag Beach Above all, when it comes to a holiday apartment with a sea view you could not get better than this at the famous Rosslare Strand. The Silversands apartment is stylish, bright and beautifully designed to reflect the sea and sky. In addition, guests can walk straight on to the Blue Flag beach. The location is terrific, close to everything, including the tasty Kelly’ s Café and Kelly’s Hotel for fine dining. The apartment sleeps four in comfort and is fully fitted with everything you might need in a comfortable home from home, see here A Forest Lodge – For Adventurers Can you imagine staying in a forest, in a comfy wooden lodge and having lots of activities on your doorstep – that is Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges? This area north of Cork and East of Limerick covers some of the most beautiful rolling valleys and hills in Ireland. It is an idea place for cyclists and hikers to get out and about. The active family will love Ballyhoura. There is some availability for self-catering homes with Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges. The lodges can sleep up to six and are fully fitted with all the home comforts you would enjoy, see here . The Ring of Kerry – Spacious Cottages Everyone loves Kerry and it is a favourite holiday destination in Ireland, especially the beautiful Ring of Kerry. You can base your family at these very nicely built cottages and explore the beauty of Kerry from here. They are just outside the gorgeous town of Kenmare and on the road to Sneem, Waterville and the Ring of Kerry scenic route. The elevated site has spectacular views over Kenmare Bay. The Boathouse restaurant at Dromquinna Manor is nearby. The three bedrooms houses are very spacious and will sleep six comfortably, see here . Renting Private Holiday Homes Places to Stay – AirBnB Airbnb properties are usually rented by owners and, there is a great variety of holiday homes available around the country. There is availability for Easter getaways around the country with the northwest and midlands having the best prices. West Cork and Kerry tend to have higher prices and book out quicker. The quirkiest holiday home I spotted was a converted barn on a dairy farm in West Cork, where a two-bedroom apartment is for rent. The very nicely fitted out loft apartment could sleep four and is a very good price from €51 per night, see here . If you are prepared to forego a beach on the doorstep, renting outside the most popular spots can for this reason, mean better prices. For example, Sligo, it is not as well-known as other counties however, it is on the Wild Atlantic Way . And you can rent a lovely home for four from under €100 per night, see here . County Down and the Mountains of Mourne This is one of the most stunning areas of Ireland and therefore, recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty. If you like beaches, hiking and being out in nature, the Mournes has it all. There are also a good variety of places and attractions to see that families will enjoy, such as the Silent Valley and the Tollymore Forest Park . In addition, this area is hill-farming country, and there are many nice converted stone cottages and farm buildings. There a good variety of larger accommodation for families and bigger groups. The town of Newcastle is the perfect seaside retreat with children. For properties to rent in the Mournes, see here . Where’s your favourite place in Ireland for a family holidays?
