In a developing story, a man has been arrested this morning on Dublin's O'Connell Street after scaling the city's iconic landmark in a bid to receive his wife's forgiveness.
Gardai are unable to comment at this time due to the strange nature of the incident that first caught our team's eye on the way to work this morning.

O'Gorman was rescued from the 121 metre Spire by a fire brigade after scaling almost the entire landmark, causing chaos on O'Connell Street with road closures and delayed northbound Luas trams.
In an exclusive interview, John O'Gorman of Fairview Dublin 3 spoke to T2I's Katie Doyle before being put in handcuffs and taken to Pearse Street Garda Station where he has been remanded in custody.
Here is a transcript of the interview:
Interviewer: "Sir, why did you scale the Spire?"
O'Gorman (crying): "I love me wife, she deserves better and I wanted to get her attention. She needs to know I love her!"
Interviewer: "But why the Spire?"
O'Gorman: "She loves the Script! Ya know that band that sang 'The Man Who Can't be Moved'? Well, he was just standing on a street corner, waiting- I thought 'Well, that's pathetic! Anybody could do that!' and so I decided I'd go up the Spire and maybe she'd see me from her offices on D'Olier Street."
Interviewer: "Why do you need to get her attention?"
O'Gorman: "Ah, sure Jaysus- she's raging at me. She caught me in bed with the neighbour on Sunday. On Mother's Day! And we have 3 kids together, she's gonna divorce me and take the kids and I can't live without her! I love her and she has to know!"
We are waiting to hear back from Pearse Street Garda station to allow us a follow up interview. Questions still remain about the incident, including what gym routines he used in order to scale the slippery surface, how he planned on abseiling down the Spire, and whether or not his wife appreciates his efforts.
More to follow.
