Popeyes has submitted a planning application to Dublin City Council for what could be its first outlet in the Republic of Ireland, aiming to open on Westmoreland Street. This proposed location sits right in the middle of Dublin’s city centre, close to Trinity College and O’Connell Bridge, an area with high footfall and no shortage of hungry passers-by.

The application was filed by PLK Chicken Ireland Limited, the company behind Popeyes UK. This move follows Popeyes’ initial foray onto the island with a successful launch in Belfast’s Forestside Shopping Centre in 2024, marking a strategic step in expanding the brand throughout Ireland.
