Your fried chicken cravings are about to be satisfied in a whole new way...Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, the iconic American fast-food chain known for its spicy, crispy chicken, is planning to open its first outlet in Ireland! The proposed location? None other than Westmoreland Street in Dublin city centre.
Planning Permission
Popeyes has submitted a planning application to Dublin City Council for what could be its first outlet in the Republic of Ireland, aiming to open on Westmoreland Street. This proposed location sits right in the middle of Dublinās city centre, close to Trinity College and OāConnell Bridge, an area with high footfall and no shortage of hungry passers-by.

The application was filed by PLK Chicken Ireland Limited, the company behind Popeyes UK. This move follows Popeyesā initial foray onto the island with a successful launch in Belfastās Forestside Shopping Centre in 2024, marking a strategic step in expanding the brand throughout Ireland.
What's on the Menu?
Popeyes is known for its distinctive Louisiana-style fried chicken, with a menu that includes:
Signature Fried Chicken: Marinated for 12 hours and hand-battered for that perfect crunch.
Chicken Sandwiches: A fan favourite that has caused queues around the block in other countries.
Tenders and Nuggets: Perfectly seasoned and ideal for dipping.
Cajun Fries and Biscuits: Classic Southern sides that complement the main dishes.
Pricing
While specific pricing for the Dublin outlet hasn't been announced, Popeyes is known for value-for-money meals. In the UK, the chain has been successful with its competitively priced menu, and it's expected that the Irish branch will follow suit.
Popeyes' expansion into Dublin is part of a broader growth strategy. Since entering the UK market in 2021, the brand has opened over 65 locations, with plans to double its footprint by the end of 2025. The move into Ireland signifies Popeyes' commitment to bringing its flavours to new audiences!
