Pup Cups, Properly - 5 Dublin Spots That Truly Serve Them

Below are five Dublin cafés that reliably offer a puppuccino - a small, dog-safe treat, usually plain whipped cream, served in its own cup. Plus where to walk the enthusiasm off afterwards!
Before we dive in, a quick note on what you’re ordering. A puppuccino is typically just unsweetened whipped cream. Many dogs tolerate a spoon or two; some don’t. If yours is dairy-sensitive, ask for a tiny portion, or skip it and stick to water and a pat. Avoid anything with chocolate, xylitol, coffee, or syrups.
Happy Out (Bull Island, Clontarf)
Happy Out has embraced the dog crowd since its shipping-container beginnings, and puppuccinos are on the menu at the original Bull Island spot. Outdoor seating, water bowls, and staff who know the routine make it easy to order for both of you.
Pair it with: A breezy out-and-back along the wooden bridge and strand (on lead and respecting seasonal beach rules). Then nab your toastie and the pup’s cup at the counter.
DASH Container Café (Phoenix Park edge, Blackhorse Ave)
DASH is, frankly, dog-mad. They run “Dog Day Déardaoin” (Puppuccino Thursdays), free pup cups on Thursdays, and keep treats handy the rest of the week. It’s purpose-built for a post-park pit stop.
Pair it with: A ramble on the nearby Phoenix Park paths; swing by afterward for coffee + pup cup in the outdoor area.
Timbertrove Café (Rathfarnham, Dublin Mountains)
A proper doggie menu lives here, including house-baked pupcakes and a “Doggie Deal” (pupcake + puppuccino), with a portion donated to the DSPCA. There’s a friendly outdoor setup and lots of wagging.
Pair it with: A light spin through the Dublin Mountains, then back for coffee, a pup cup, and (for good measure) a slice for the humans.
Bold & Brass Coffee (Clontarf trailer + Rathmines)
The team behind Bold & Brass lean all the way in, at one point even dubbing their setup a “Puppuccino Hotel.” There are free dog treats as standard and puppuccinos on request. The Clontarf trailer is seaside-perfect; while Rathmines brings the buzz.
Pair it with: A seafront wander on the Clontarf promenade before (or after) your coffee. In Rathmines, loop through local side streets for a quick leg-stretch.
Scoops & Hoops (Stillorgan)
An ice-cream-forward café that runs puppuccinos and free dog-treat moments, plus a cheery “Dog of the Week” on socials. It’s simple, friendly, and good fun if you’ve a sweet tooth and a sociable pup!
Pair it with: A casual circuit around Stillorgan’s green pockets; come back for coffee, cones, and that photogenic pup cup.
Dublin has plenty of friendly counters, these five just make it simple. Got a regular that does it right? Tell us, and we’ll check it out!
