The new location is on the corner of Westmoreland St, beside The College Green Hotel (previously The Westin) and opposite Trinity College and Bank of Ireland. Built originally in 1875 to serve as the offices of Lloyds Bank subsidiary, Scottish Widows Insurance, the dual-aspect Venetian Renaissance-style building, with its sandstone façade and limestone panels and balconies, is arguably one of the most attractive properties to be found in the city centre. Number 41 occupies a pivotal position facing on to Westmoreland Street, College Street and Trinity College Dublin, and is situated immediately adjacent to the Westin Hotel.

Big Mamma Group- with locations in Paris, Barcelona and London- started their journey in 2015 by entrepreneurs Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux. It was "born out of a crazy desire to transport people to Italy for a meal – in trattorias with a unique design, warm atmosphere, authentic dishes made from fresh prodotti straight from Italy, at the best possible value. All served by a team with the biggest smiles and sweetest accents."

Since then, the Big Mamma team has opened 30 trattorias in 7 countries and a 4,500 sqm food market – La Felicita in Paris. Each trattoria has its own vibe, and everything is homemade: working with 170 producers to offer freshness and flavour in every bite.

Gloria Dublin will apparently feature an elegant menu of 100% homemade Italian dishes like creamy Puglian burrata from Salvatore Montrone and 22-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano DOP from Paolo Gennari.
